Opinion: Why Andrew Yang's mayoral campaign failed

As soon as the election returns started coming in Tuesday night in New York City, it was clear things had not gone well for mayoral candidate Andrew Yang. In the first round of rank choice voting tabulations, he finished a distant fourth -- after having spent much of the winter and spring as a leading candidate in this race.
